Recreation GymnasticsKiwi Gym cater to children aged 4-5 years
This 45-minute class is designed to foster independence in children, guiding them to follow instructions and directions while engaging in diverse movements on various pieces of equipment. The children participate in group warm-ups, cool-downs, and circuits, all structured to impart fundamental gymnastics skills. Gym Fun cater to children aged 5-7 years. A 60-min entry level class focused on fundamental movement patterns while developing balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility. In these sessions, children will learn and practice skills on various gymnastics equipment, all while progressing through our FGS levels program. GymStars cater to children aged 6-8 years 75-min beginner classes cater to children eager to enhance their gymnastic abilities, focusing on strength and flexibility. These classes are engaging and demanding, offering guidance across all gymnastics equipment, including Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor. They integrate various skills and drills to refine technique and broaden their gymnastic repertoire. Highflyers cater to children aged 12+ years
This class focuses on the athlete, catering to a wide array of skills suitable for children aged 12 and older. It provides instruction on all gymnastics apparatuses, such as the Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor. Junior Boys caters to boys aged 7+ years. This class has both a non-competitive and a competitive option. Boy's classes focus on the development of skills for men’s gymnastics on rings, p-bar, bar, floor, tumble track and vault. The program is designed to be high energy, with skills from across gymsports to motivate and challenge participants. These classes have an emphasis on technique and performing skills safely. At each apparatus the coach will lead participants through a variety of gymnastics skills, strength, coordination, flexibility and fitness activities. |
Recreation TumbleTumble (7 years +)
Tumbling involves the use of floor and spring apparatuses, such as beat boards, mini trampolines, and tumble tracks. Gymnasts train with skilled coaches to hone their rotational and aerial skills, mastering body control during movement, rotation, and safe landings. Junior Tumble welcomes children who can roll, cartwheel, and bear weight.
Wednesday or Friday 4-5pm Intermediate Tumble advances to higher-level skills such as roundoffs, back handsprings, and somersaults. Wednesday or Friday 5-6pm ** Note: If your child does not have the strength to bear their body weight, please enroll them in an age-appropriate gymnastics class first. |
